Responsibilities include:
- Planning and coordinating: Overseeing the purchasing process, including the activities of buyers and purchasing officers
- Obtaining goods and services: Determining what the company needs, and then ordering and arranging delivery
- Negotiating: Negotiating contracts on behalf of the company
- Analyzing data: Comparing suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery time
- Developing strategies: Creating and implementing procurement policies and strategies
- Maintaining relationships: Building and maintaining relationships with vendors
- Monitoring: Monitoring deliveries and stock levels
- Establishes relationships with key suppliers aimed at achieving preferred pricing and terms.
- Communicates with Accounting to track payables to key suppliers according to agreed terms.
- Communicates with Sales Associates to assist in closing customer parts-only sales orders.
- Communicates with Field Service Associates to ensure that parts and materials are provided.
- Develops programs with existing and new suppliers that maximize parts availability and flexibility, while achieving competitive pricing.
- Leads Purchasing Associates to ensure that parts and materials are ordered according to NRE requirements and quotations from approved suppliers.
- Leads Purchasing and Warehouse Associates to ensure that parts and materials are delivered according to commitments from suppliers.
- Leads Purchasing Department to ensure the accuracy of procurement records.
- Follows-up to resolve critical procurement issues raised by internal and external Associates.
- Leads Purchasing and internal departments in assuring that AAR/ISO Quality standards are met.
- Leads Purchasing and internal departments in tracing and improving Key Performance Indicators, such as on-time delivery, quality and Lead-Times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related subject.
- Ability to work with both internal and external suppliers in a professional manner.
- Ability to analyze and negotiate within the guidelines of good business and ethical practices.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Sage ERP
- Five years of supply chain or procurement experience
