The Insurance and Financial Services (I&FS) department of NRECA develops and provides access to employee benefit programs and resources to its members.
The communications and user experience team is responsible for creating engaging, informative and useful materials across a host of media platforms to educate plan participants on these programs along with ways to maximize use and cost savings in addition to providing guidance on their administration for HR and benefits professionals.

We are looking for a motivated and talented individual to assist in the development of communication material used to communicate NRECA’s offerings to members. This individual will interact with communications and user experience team members on communication campaign deliverables/schedules as well as working to assist the team with content development and organization on our benefits web portal to improve digital engagement. - Assist with content audits and content modifications relating to 401(k) product materials
- Develop content to populate editorial calendar for website homepages
- Work with management to document and formalize workflow process and procedures
- Collaborate with communication managers to produce content in support of ongoing communication campaigns including educational newsletters, videos, etc.
- Work with team members to incorporate better keywords and content descriptions on the website to improve search results and user engagement
- Develop web pages and develop/modify content based on existing materials currently as PDF or other static media
- Assist communication managers by developing graphics and other presentation materials to support webinars and template presentation PowerPoint decks
- Work with the communications and user experience team to organize and develop materials to be used for summer conference season
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Rising college junior or senior with a major in Marketing, Communications, English, Digital Design or related focus.
- 3.0 GPA or higher (no academic or corrective action on record); transcripts must be provided
- Use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) in the day-to-day tasks.
- Familiarity working within Adobe design for graphic design, video development/editing; web content management systems a plus
- Operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, or other job-related equipment.
- Learn new systems and processes and quickly incorporate them into the daily work.
- Apply good judgement related to escalating issues and requesting assistance.
- Organize and manage time effectively.
- Pay close attention to detail and review work for quality.
- Team player with good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong communication skills orally and in writing
