We are looking for an intern to support the software development team responsible for building and maintaining NRECA's National Employee Benefits (NEB) portal applications. The intern will learn about the software development cycle by participating in projects that include:
- Completing project stories and/or production support tickets
- Working in both client-side (Angular/React) and server-side technologies (NodeJS/C#)
- Working with AWS Cloud services, using them in conjunction with continuous integration and continuous deployment
- Learning how to ensure applications are secure, identify vulnerabilities and remediate critical issues
- Participating in different application teams and other IT work units to understand the overall IT organization.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Rising college junior or senior with a major in computer science, business or related focus.
- 3.0 GPA or higher (no academic or corrective action on record); transcripts must be provided
- Curious about Cloud native technology
- Interested in JavaScript technology such as Angular and NodeJS
- Experience using C# or Java
- Use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) in the day-to-day tasks.
- Operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, or other job-related equipment.
- Learn new systems and processes and quickly incorporate them into the daily work.
- Apply good judgement related to escalating issues and requesting assistance.
- Organize and manage time effectively.
- Pay close attention to detail and review work for quality.
- Team player with good interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong communication skills orally and in writing
