JOB TITLE: Group Fitness Instructor
Work Location: North Ranch Country Club
Required Availability: Mornings between 8:00AM-12:00PM
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Zumba Instructor to join our team. This role requires an energetic individual who can motivate and inspire participants of all fitness levels while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach a variety of Zumba and Fitness Dance style classes to students of all levels and abilities.
- Required to arrive a minimum of 10 minutes before your class start time.
- The class equipment is to be set up and ready for use at the start of class.
- If applicable, use the NRG Health & Fitness Mobile App accurately and efficiently to record class attendance and add clients into class.
- If applicable, clients are required to register for class via the NRG Health & Fitness Mobile App in order to take part in the class. As the instructor, it is your responsibility to enforce this policy and confirm that all participants have properly registered for the class through the app.
- You are expected to assist in maintaining a clean and organized studio/fitness area, and to promptly report any broken or damaged equipment to NRG management.
- Communicate with NRG Management via emails, text and phone during normal business hours.
- Provide constructive feedback on classes, share suggestions for improvement, and bring any questions or concerns to the attention of management when necessary.
- You must wear appropriate athletic attire when acting as an NRG Instructor.
- You are required to accurately track your working hours by clocking in and out using the ADP Mobile App, and to keep your timecard up to date in ADP.
- You will be required to commute to different work locations to teach your assigned classes.
- Adhere to the operating procedures and policies specific to each customer. Depending on the customer, different SOPs may be required, and as an employee, it's our responsibility to do our best to fulfill them.
Requirements for the Job:
- A certification is required for each format you are assigned to teach.
- Previous experience teaching yoga classes to individuals or groups, with a strong understanding of yoga anatomy, philosophy, and teaching methodologies.
- Possess a current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- 2 years teaching the specific format you will be assigned to teach.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to be professional and motivate class participants.
- Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.
- Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee must have a high degree of energy, be physically fit, and have the endurance to complete the workout.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more, and occasionally must aide or assist participants. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
