What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project/Application Engineer position at NRG Services, LLC?
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to ensure clarification and meet specific requirements in a timely manner.
- Maintain budgets and adjust according to needs as they arise.
- Track performance and analyze the completion of key goals.
- Document and report project progress to stakeholders and clients.
- Complies with all relevant safety regulations and procedures
- Addresses any problems with boiler systems and notifies maintenance when needed.
- Contacts supervisor concerning potentially dangerous equipment or safety violations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Develop intricate 2D and 3D drawings of mechanical systems, focusing on high-pressure boiler systems, using AutoCAD software
- Interpret and integrate project requirements, specifications, and design parameters into accurate technical drawings
- Collaborate with engineering teams to validate design concepts and ensure feasibility
- Review and refine drawings based on stakeholder feedback and project updates, ensuring continuous improvement and accuracy
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and codes
- Organize and maintain drawing files, project documentation, and revision history for seamless project management
- Provide expert-level technical support and training to team members on AutoCAD software, troubleshooting, and best practices
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in AutoCAD software, mechanical engineering, and high-pressure boiler systems to ensure cutting-edge design practices
Expectations:
- Work with VP of Engineering to assist on project management
- Work with the Service department to assist on service contracts and preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Work with Operations team to assist on boiler operations shift coverage at different plants
- Work with Sales team to assist with equipment sales
- After one-year cross training in all aspects of this business listed above we will then review what aspect works best for you in a management roll.
- This will be based on success in each department and employees interest in each department, and companies needs at that time.

- Proven experience as an AutoCAD Expert, with extensive knowledge in mechanical systems and high-pressure boiler systems
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD software, with a strong portfolio of relevant technical drawings
- In-depth understanding of technical drawing standards, mechanical engineering principles, and high-pressure boiler system design
- Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt designs to meet project requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with project teams and stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred, with additional certifications in AutoCAD or mechanical design considered an advantage
- Or 5 years using AutoCAD with mechanical systems and high-pressure boiler systems.
Education & Experience:
- Engineering degree in a related field, 3rd Class Engineering License required, or at least 3-5 years work experience
- Able to obtain 2nd Class Engineering License
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical/vocational school training and experience working with industrial boilers or mechanical systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to inspect and repair boilers.
- Able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds at a time.
