Duties & Responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work with experienced Predictive Maintenance (PdM) personnel to perform testing and analysis using various PdM technologies, including, but not limited to, oil analysis, vibration monitoring, infrared thermography, motor current analysis, ultrasonic monitoring, equipment balancing and laser alignment
- Performs field inspections and takes field measurements
- Prepares written reports in assigned area of responsibility
- Performs technical duties in area of specialization
- Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date predictive maintenance databases
- Perform maintenance analysis studies, develop and analyze databases, and prepare reports with recommendations using Work Management System as well as other available tools
Knowledge/Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of power plant systems and operation consistent with level of responsibility
- Ability to understand and interpret drawings and specifications
- Ability to use PC and associated software applications to collect and analyze data and produce spreadsheets, databases, and reports
- Ability to use basic math and algebra to perform calculations
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts (verbal and written)
- Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals
- Ability to perform inspections of power plant systems and equipment and take field measurements
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Ability to use testing and measuring equipment such as infrared cameras and laser systems, and computerized equipment such as vibration data collectors
- Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations
Education/Experience
Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Power Plant Technology, military technical training or a related field and (5) years’ experience in the power plant industry, the chemical process industry, or oil/gas process plant industry in the Predictive Maintenance field
OR
High School diploma or GD and (8) years’ plant maintenance experience in the power generation, chemical process industry, or oil/gas process plant industry- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) years predictive maintenance experience in the power generation, chemical process industry, or oil/gas process plant industry- Basic knowledge of power plant systems and operations consistent in area of specialization
- Knowledge of vibration theory and analysis techniques, thermographic analysis techniques, and machinery characteristics
- Ability to use testing and measuring equipment such as infrared cameras and laser systems, and computerized equipment such as vibration data collectors
- Ability to use tools and devices such as strobe lights and infrared tachometer

Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment and/or out-of-doors work environment (Including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas at generating unit work locations)
- Requires operation of a motor vehicle, Texas Driver’s License
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect or collect data on plant equipment
- Work overtime and non-standard hours as required
- Requires occasional travel outside the business area
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
- Required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals
- Requires operation of a personal computer
- Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
Please Note: Salary offered will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s education and/or experience and consistent with the job location’s market pay rate.
