Job Title : Plumbing Estimator

Department : Estimating / Project Management

Employment Type : Full-Time

Job Summary :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Plumbing Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of plumbing systems, as well as experience in estimating project costs, materials, and labor for residential and commercial plumbing projects. The Plumbing Estimator will work closely with the project management team, clients, and subcontractors to prepare accurate estimates and ensure timely project execution.

Key Responsibilities :

Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive plumbing cost estimates.
Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather information for accurate estimating.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to clarify project specifications and scope.
Prepare detailed takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment required for each plumbing project.
Calculate and submit cost estimates for plumbing materials, installation, and labor for residential and commercial projects.
Develop project schedules and provide cost breakdowns, considering all phases of the project.
Ensure that estimates comply with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Review and analyze bids, contracts, and change orders.
Maintain records of estimates, proposals, and project-related documents.
Monitor project budgets and assist with cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Work with procurement teams to obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
Provide ongoing support to project managers and teams by offering cost-related advice and solutions during the construction process.
Assist with identifying cost-saving opportunities and suggesting value engineering options.

Qualifications :

Proven experience as a plumbing estimator or in a similar estimating role within the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong understanding of project management processes and construction schedules.

Familiarity with contract documents, bid submissions, and construction drawings.

Education & Experience :

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Associate’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a plumbing estimator or in a related construction role.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to perform site visits and inspections as necessary.

Comfortable working in varied environments, including job sites with exposure to construction conditions.
