What are the responsibilities and job description for the Riley Children's Health - PMH BE/BC Pediatric Hospitalist position at Nrharural?
Riley Children's Health has an excellent opportunity to join the premier Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PMH) program in the state of Indiana. Our patient population draws throughout the state, encompassing diverse backgrounds and cultures at multiple sites within our large health system. The PMH team provides a broad patient care experience across a variety of care models and sees patients at our quaternary care center at Riley Hospital for Children in downtown Indianapolis, and community hospitals IU North Hospital in Carmel, IU West Hospital in Avon, and IU Health in Bloomington.
Highlights
- Opportunity is primarily to serve the inpatient teaching and non-teaching services at our large Quaternary Children’s Hospital, Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible faculty in Pediatric Hospital Medicine will attend the inpatient Resident / student teaching teams.
- Patients served include General Pediatric admissions, as well as admission for many subspecialty groups including Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Genetics / Metabolism, Neurology, Psychiatry, Ophthalmology, Adolescent Medicine and more.
- We provide surgical co-management with many of the subspecialty surgery groups including ENT, Urology, Neurosurgery.
- BC / BE faculty in PHM serve as teaching faculty to our PHM fellows.
- Numerous medical education opportunities are available for interested applicants in both the Pediatric Residency and IU School of Medicine.
- Opportunities available for other clinical service areas at other locations including PICU night coverage, community pediatric inpatient care, the spectrum of newborn care including L&D, routine normal newborn nursery to high-risk deliveries.
- Procedures include (but are not limited to) : lumbar puncture, possible circumcision.
- Rigorous academic track is available and encouraged with built-in protected time for scholarly activities including quality improvement, medical education, leadership, and research.
- 12-hour shift equivalents; may be split between days and nights, 154 shift equivalent per year. Holidays and weekends are evenly distributed among all faculty.
