The Director of Nursing (DON) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the overall nursing care delivery within the senior living facility. Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor nursing staff to ensure effective, quality care for all residents.
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures that align with best practices in senior healthcare.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans, ensuring individualized, person-centered care for each resident.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the nursing department, including staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Actively promote teamwork, collaboration, and continuous professional development among the nursing staff.
- Ensure that all nursing care services meet state and federal regulatory requirements and facility standards.
- Oversee the documentation of resident health records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper record-keeping.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of the facility's nursing processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead initiatives for quality improvement and resident satisfaction.
- Oversee the delivery of medical care, administering treatments, medications, and managing complex health conditions.
