Position Overview:
We are seeking a Slitter Operator to join our team in our rubber hose manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for operating slitting machines to accurately cut and slit large rolls of rubber material into smaller rolls or sheets according to product specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety. This position plays a key role in ensuring that materials are processed correctly to support downstream manufacturing processes.
Essential Job Functions:
- Set up, operate, and adjust slitting machines according to material specifications and production requirements.
- Perform quality checks to ensure correct width, thickness, and material type.
- Inspect material for defects or inconsistencies and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Adjust knives, tension, and machine settings to maintain product accuracy.
- Secure ends of rubber material and properly label rolls with identification tags.
- Record material type, gauge, and quantity on production documentation.
- Transport finished rolls to storage areas or deliver layers to braiding machines as needed.
- Follow standard operating procedures, quality guidelines, and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Use forklift equipment to move raw materials and finished goods (Certification required – training available).
- Other duties as assigned.
Training & Development:
- Minimum four weeks of hands-on training with direct supervision.
- Completion of company safety training programs.
- Indoctrination and understanding of NRP’s Quality Manual and quality system requirements.
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm with a 30-min lunch break. (4/10's)
- Off Friday, Sat, & Sunday.
- Overtime may be required based on production demands.

Requirements:Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience operating slitting machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
- Ability to accurately measure and set knives to precise widths.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow written instructions.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and label printing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
