PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Director of Accounting, the Senior Accountant will contribute to the support of breast and colorectal cancer research and the management of clinical trials by providing accounting and payroll services to the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
30% OF TIME
Payroll
- Maintains payroll information by directing the collection, calculation, and entering of payroll data; reviews and enters payroll changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job titles, and department transfers; directs the production and issuance of electronic transfers to bank accounts. Imports payroll into accounting system and balances to general ledger / Project Balances. Resolves payroll discrepancies. Imports 401K / 457B to 3rd parties; prepares check requests for 3rd party payroll deductions / taxes.
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
- Protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by remaining apprised of existing and new legislation; advises management on needed actions.

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; must be well organized.
This position is located in Pittsburgh, PA. We currently offer a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) and 2 days remote work (Wednesday and Friday) per week.
