NSC is currently hiring a certified painter / Blaster must have one ACTIVE cert in C7 / C12 / or C14.
PER DIEM FOR THOSE WHO QUALIFY (proof of residence 80 miles away from the yard)
Active Certification is required
C7 OR C12 OR C14
POSITION DESCRIPTION.
As a certified painter / blaster, you will perform blasting and painting utilizing coating to specified contract requirements. Painters and blasters perform blasting and painting applications as directed by supervision. Must be able to perform all blast requirements and functions utilizing all application methods and identify and correct blast and paint deficiencies as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Apply coatings through conventional and airless spray systems.
- Apply paint with brush and roll.
- Knowledge of various painting methods and applications.
- Knowledge of various blasts.
- Grinding, sanding and polishing .
- Painting, caulking and sealing.
- Direct blast of abrasive-laden compressed air or water against metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt to impart even finish.
- Apply masking materials to protect designated areas from abrasive finish.
- Apply epoxy, polyurethane and high solids coatings.
- Operate a man lift, work at heights, and swing stage training.
- Must Wear respirator and other required PPE.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS.
The successful candidate must possess the physical abilities necessary to perform all aspects of his or her job including but not limited to; general lifting and carrying equipment and tools, bending and climbing. Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time. Work in various types of weather conditions.
