Position Title: Warehouse Delivery Driver/Material Handler
Department: Machine Shop
Business Unit: Remke
Job Summary:
This position has responsibility for moving materials, supplies, and products throughout the warehouse and between Remke buildings.
Position Responsibilities:
Drive warehouse truck to deliver parts from Wheeling to Vernon Hills or to and from vendors daily or as required.
- Move materials to/from the warehouse:
- Put away incoming materials in labeled containers in the correct location
- Issue materials from the warehouse to manufacturing when required
- Verify inventory counts
- Assist with packing/shipping and receiving when required
- Complete applicable documentation and daily production reports as required
- Maintain warehouse in a clean and organized manner ensuring all tools, fixtures, materials, and other supplies are clean and put away in the proper locations.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on material handling equipment as per schedule
- Know, understand, and comply with Remke Quality Policy and its objectives
- Know, understand, and comply with all Remke Safety Rules and guidelines
- Demonstrate Remke vision and values by successfully collaborating with other teammates throughout the organization
- Train other employees as necessary
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Production Supervisor
- At least one year similar work experience preferred
- High School diploma preferred
- Ability to read and write English required
- Ability to read and understand all shipping and receiving documentation including Purchase Orders, Work Orders, Bill of Materials, Sales Orders (Picking Lists) and Special Instructions required
- Ability to operate forklift equipment safely
- Valid driver’s license to drive company truck locally
BODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects. Must be capable of bending, reaching and crouching. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls and talk and hear. The employee must be able to drive the company truck.
BODY SENSES: Must have command of all five senses – sight, hearing, touch, perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Specific vision abilities required include close vision depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
STRENGTH: Must have the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds with regularity.
Work Environment:
This position will be working indoors in a smoke free environment.
