We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Explorer (ADX) Engineer to join the cloud data platform team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data architecture, time-series analytics, and cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role will focus on building scalable, high-performance data ingestion and analytics solutions using Azure Data Explorer and its surrounding ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize data ingestion pipelines into Azure Data Explorer (Kusto) from various sources (e.g., Azure Event Hubs, IoT Hub, Kafka, etc.).
- Create and manage ADX tables, mappings, and retention policies to support large-scale time-series or telemetry data.
- Write efficient and maintainable KQL (Kusto Query Language) scripts for real-time analytics and dashboarding.
- Integrate ADX with visualization tools such as Power BI and Grafana.
- Collaborate with data architects, DevOps, and application teams to deliver cloud-native data solutions.
- Implement role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and security best practices in Azure ADX.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, cost, and scalability of Azure-based data solutions.
- Document processes, schemas, and governance standards for analytics and reporting use cases.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related fields.
- 2 years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Explorer (ADX/Kusto).
- Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL).
- Experience integrating ADX with Azure services such as Event Hubs, Data Factory, Synapse, and Logic Apps.
- Familiarity with Grafana, Power BI, or Azure Monitor for visualization and alerting.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC (Terraform or ARM templates).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect).
- Experience with real-time analytics, telemetry data, and large-scale log data pipelines.
- Knowledge of security, governance, and compliance frameworks in cloud data environments.
