As an intern with NSM, you'll have the opportunity to work along side our underwriting teams while interacting with agents. In addition to on the job experience, we provide offsite team building and community outreach activities. Our Internship program runs mid-May through the first week in August. **This is a hybrid work situation, 3 days in-office required.**
Responsibilities
- Fully assist Underwriters in all aspects of the underwriting process.
- Interact with agents to provide superior customer service via phone and email.
- Review submissions for completeness, accuracy and make requests for information.
- Set up rating in system for underwriter to price.
- Bind, book, bill and issue policies.
- Responsible for review of all documentation of underwriting files with underwriter’s guidance.
- Follow up on open items and request additional items to finalize checklist.
- Attend team meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail; strong focus on accuracy of information transferred from applications to system for rating.
- Ability to service and maintain strong relationships with brokers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical/critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and stay organized.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates teamwork capabilities.
