POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels within the warehouse. This role ensures efficient tracking, storage, and movement of inventory using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system while adhering to food safety and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, reconciliations, and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Work closely with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to coordinate inventory movements.
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of raw materials, finished goods, and packaging supplies.
- Analyze inventory trends and provide reports to management for decision-making.
- Assist in the implementation and optimization of ERP inventory modules.
- Adhere to food safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Support warehouse staff with inventory-related inquiries and problem resolution.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyze variances in inventory costs and investigate root causes. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reporting and analysis.
- Investigate and verify production consumption and output. Report back to production and/or finance issues should arise.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in inventory control, preferably in a food warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to operate warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with food safety and regulatory compliance (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA) is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment as needed.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with strong verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stack and lift heavy boxes, crates, or meat products, which can range from 70 pounds or more (unassisted). The job typically involves standing and walking for extended periods to move around the warehouse, inspecting inventory, and fulfill orders. The employee may involve repetitive motions, such as scanning barcodes, sorting products, packaging items, and bending, stoop, and kneel to access products on lower shelves. The employee may operate machinery like forklifts or pallet jacks, requiring physical coordination and the ability to handle heavy equipment.
Due to noise levels in the work environment, the use of hearing protection is required. The employee must have good, corrected vision to see details at close range or at a distance. The employee will be working in a cold storage environment and may be exposed to heat when working outside the warehouse area. The employee may be exposed to strong odors such as raw meat and marinades from seasoned meat.
While in the production area, the employee is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include hair and beard nets, rubber soled shoes, smocks, hearing protection and hard hats.
