They will be responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, electrical systems, and support equipment. This role also involves managing high-dollar projects related to automation and plant support systems, as well as improving manufacturing processes, product quality, and regulatory compliance through experimentation, data collection, and analysis.
Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 5:00 pm
Responsibilities
- Developing a world-class maintenance system through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Operational Excellence.
- Facilitating the integration of responsibilities between the maintenance and engineering departments.
- Oversee and instruct maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and installing production equipment, electrical systems, material handling equipment, and support equipment.
- Coordinate projects and schedules, working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams on equipment installations and projects.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, improve, and maintain production equipment and facilities support equipment, including boilers, chillers, and dust collection systems.
- Assist in planning for parts and materials needed for installation and repair projects, including parts ordering and inventory management.
- Perform lead worker and supervisory functions as needed, including training other maintenance mechanics.
- Manage improvement projects related to existing products, processes, and equipment to reduce costs and/or improve quality.
- Validate products, processes, and equipment according to cGMP and TGA regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Equivalent to four years of high school education.
- Minimum of five years of engineering technical experience or similar environment.
- BS degree in mechanical, chemical, or manufacturing engineering or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, electrical systems, pneumatic systems, and control systems.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and purchasing procedures.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- High level of skill with factory automation.
- Strong verbal and communication skills with ability to present to upper management.
- High level of organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, AutoCAD or similar) with an ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
- Ability to work with management and direct labor groups in a positive team-building manner.
