What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Analytics Engineer position at NTCA_user?
NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association is looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to join our Information Technology group. This position will report to the Data and Business Analysis Manager. You will have the opportunity to produce datasets for users internal and external to NTCA that guide analysis and inform decision making, develop business requirements for new and existing data extracts and reports, document data workflows and provide solutions and develop reports that combine data from multiple sources and extracts.
What will you do?
Proactively collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze data and system requirements. Provide datasets to users that inform data-driven decisions.
Translate user requirements into business requirements and functional specifications.
Synthesize and analyze disparate and complex data and organize data in a way that permits the development of effective and efficient databases, data extracts and reports.
Serve as a data subject matter expert in processing systems.
Monitor latest trends and industry advances in the areas of reporting, data mining and data analysis and recommend integration with the organization’s technology.
Communicate, coordinate and cooperate with internal staff and external vendors in a clear and concise manner.
Create documentation including business requirements, reference manuals, data application user guides and data layout designs.
The ideal candidate will have the following position requirements:
Advanced Microsoft SQL/Oracle skills to create logic for data transformation, writing queries and report generation
Data engineering and BI Tools knowledge, Microsoft Power BI is preferred
Experience with data integrations and ETL processes is preferred
Ability to think analytically and be a problem solver
Aptitude for analytical storytelling
Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information
Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle
Advanced skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Visio
Basic understanding of database design and architecture
Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including senior management
Practical knowledge, skills, and abilities usually acquired through an undergraduate degree and a minimum of 5 –7 years of related work experience.
