Overview
Our client is seeking a Junior Analyst who will be primarily responsible for posting customer payments and will handle some specialized payment situations, as assigned, under general supervision. The Junior Analyst will be responsible for reviewing checks, translating information on the checks into a payment system, and identifying where payments need to be applied on customer accounts. The Junior Analyst can expect to process over 100 checks per day. Core responsibilities include:
• Accurately posting all assigned manual and electronic payments to customer accounts.
• Daily research of check payments to determine corresponding customer account.
• Verifying accuracy, researching discrepancies, and reconciling payment errors.
• Resolving and reporting issues in a timely and accurate manner.
• Reconciling payments daily.
• Working on special projects as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of experience in an Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounting, and/or Billing position.
• Experience posting customer payments.
• Excellent organizational, mathematical, and analytical skills to ensure payments are posted correctly into customer accounts.
• Strong data entry skills.
• Basic Microsoft Excel experience.
• Must demonstrate a positive demeanor, good verbal, and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Solid customer service skills with the ability to answer questions from customers regarding payments.
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Associate degree or beyond – preferably with coursework in Accounting.
• Experience in the retail energy industry.
• Experience using Salesforce.
