Title: GIS Technician
Terms of Employment
• W2 Contract, 12 months (Possible extension based on performance)
• Location: 2301 Market St, Philadelphia, PA
• Will be 100% onsite first 6 weeks for training then Hybrid (Tues,Wed,Thur)
• 40hrs/week (8 am-5 pm) flexible
Overview
A GIS (Geographic Information System) Technician is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and managing geographic data for use in GIS applications. They work closely with GIS analysts and other professionals to ensure that spatial data is accurate, up-to-date, and meets the needs of the organization. The team size is around 10-15.
Responsibilities:
• Will support the increase in users/system integration on the CAD/GIS platforms to support the business effectively.
• Providing technical support to CAD and GIS Users.
• Resolve conflicts (G/Tech)
• Assist with critical errors (G/Tech)
• AutoEDMS file handling errors/issues (checkout/check-in)
• Software provisioning manual installs and setup of MicroStation V8, AutoEDMS (v6.5 and v7), PlotWorks.
Required Skills & Experience
• 5 year Experience overall need in GIS, G/Tech, CAD.
• Experience in CAD software (Bentley MicroStation, Autodesk AutoCAD)
• Standard Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Visio)
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• CAD/GIS experience in a Utility environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in any field (Needs 6-7 yrs GIS, CAD, G/tech exp if no Degree)
• G/Tech GIS Utility environment background.
• Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology such as SQL Server and/or Oracle and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
• Smallworld GIS experience.
