- This position is hybrid. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Berwyn, PA (19312) or Center City, Philadelphia (19103) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays can be worked remotely. Candidates comfortable working in Berwyn will be prioritized.
Overview & Responsibilities:
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in managing the financial health of electric operations for Delaware and Chester counties/regions. This position requires a seasoned financial professional with a strong understanding of financial procedures, budgeting, forecasting, and project financial management within a utility environment. The role focuses on supporting operational activities including corrective maintenance, new business initiatives, and system performance to ensure reliability and stability within the network. This individual will be responsible for preparing monthly financial forecasts, providing support for journal entries and reclassifications, managing accruals, and ensuring accurate month-end close processes. This role requires the ability to identify and address financial discrepancies, providing valuable insights to operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial forecasts for electric operations, including corrective maintenance, new business, and system performance.
- Manage month-end financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the preparation and execution of annual budgets and long-range financial plans.
- Provide financial support for journal entries, reclassifications, and accruals.
- Monitor and analyze project financials for engineering, construction, and field-based projects.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
- Utilize Power BI to extract and analyze data for financial reporting and decision-making.
- Identify and investigate potential financial discrepancies, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial guidance and support.
- Prepare and present financial reports and presentations to management.
- Perform forensic accounting tasks as required.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Strong understanding of financial procedures, including month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
- Proven experience in developing and managing annual budgets and long-range financial plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address financial discrepancies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
- Experience managing the financials of engineering, construction, utility, and/or field-based projects.
- Knowledge of accruals.

- Experience using Hyperion for financial management.
- Experience pulling and analyzing data from Power BI.
- Experience with forensic accounting.
