Overview
• Our client’s Our Global Payroll department is looking for an experienced self-motivated system savvy Payroll Analyst to join their team.
• Reporting to the Sr Manager Global Payroll, the Payroll Analyst will work closely with the Accounting, People Ops and Benefits teams.
• The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of all payroll cycles and payroll associated tasks.
Responsibilities
• Perform a variety of payroll functions in preparation, distribution, and reporting of payroll.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Ensure the accurate and timely end to end processing of payroll across multiple countries, including the U.S. and Canada.
• Provide prompt, friendly, and efficient customer service to employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions, or the payroll process
• Experience with Canada’s complex annual and ad hoc calculations as it relates to PTO payout
• Experience with Canadian ROE submissions, RRSP, QPP, CPP, etc.
• Experience with U.S. federal, state, local tax withholding laws and reporting
• Monitor tax notices, wage orders, and governmental correspondences; record tax payments and perform quarterly tax reconciliations in a timely manner
• Assist with all payroll related audits & SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation for all payroll related processes and providing recommendations as appropriate.
• Document payroll processes and procedures with the ability to suggest best practices and opportunities.
• Process and complete all year-end activities for US and Canada ensuring compliance with regard to filing reports, remittances and returns with appropriate tax authorities.
• Participate in system upgrades and perform user testing for all payroll related enhancements.
• Participate in special projects as assigned, such as documenting workflows, improving processes and procedures, and periodic updates to payroll related forms.
• Assist with internal and external audits and data gathering.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
• 3 years’ experience with full-cycle multi-state and multi-provinces payroll.
• Working knowledge and experience with multi-state / multi-province payroll and payroll tax rules and regulations in the US (federal, state, local) and Canada (CNESST, Rev. Quebec, Ontario EHT).
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.),
• Experienced in Google suite.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem solving skills in a growing and dynamic environment.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and work well in teams to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-growing environment where change is the norm.
• Strong multi-tasking skills, and flexibility to switch from one task to the next quickly.
• Demonstrated ability to hold information confidential with use of appropriate judgment when handling sensitive data.

Preferred Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• Current experience and in-depth knowledge of payroll systems and reporting functions,
• ADP, CloudPay and Workday experience.
• Payroll qualification/certification (i.e. CPP, PCP, etc.).
• Experience working in a high-tech, high-growth company.
