Job Summary:
Working under the direction of the Supervisor, the Directional Driller will be responsible for safely and effectively operating a Directional Drill
Job Duties and Responsibilites:
• In conjunction with locator, operate the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and / or duct.
• Load and unload directional drill equipment in a manner that is secure and damage free.
• Transport associated tools, materials and/or equipment in a safe manner.
• Complete Driver’s logbook & daily vehicle inspection (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, accident, or incident reports.
• Complete a daily inspection on equipment prior to commencing work.
• Prepare the drill fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing.
• Able to operate the drill locater as required.
• Other duties as required.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• CDL is required
• Must have 1-3 years previous Drilling experience and working around existing buried utilities
• Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs.)
• Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be familiar with OSHA requirements
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety as per job requirements
