Job Summary:
The Fiber Construction Technician is to be responsible for properly pulling fiber by hand, with a fiber puller, or blowing fibers. Setting handholes per company standards. Trenching in conduit to depth. Work with other crew members.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Use Fiber Puller and Fiber Blower to install fiber
- Hand-pull Fiber per company standards
- Set Handholes
- Trench conduit
- Cut concrete
- Core drill
- Install conduit (EMT, Rigid, Plenum)
- Proof conduit (rod and rope)
- Gain access to handhole and manholes
- Read Designs
- Set up traffic control
- Make ready wood poles
- Run equipment (Fiber Puller, Fiber Blower, Mini Excavator, Micro Plow, Aerial Lift, etc.)
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Willing to travel
- Valid Transportation
- Strong work ethic and good attendance record
- Work with a crew
