Job Summary: The Senior Construction Manager position will have partial P&L responsibility for assigned projects as directed by PM as well as manage the performance of in-house and subcontract crews. This includes field work to ensure direct supervision of crew members and subcontractors.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for managing the overall project execution performance including scope, cost, safety, quality, schedule, implementation, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare project status reports, build & keep project trackers updated and ensure completed work meets all specifications.
- Complete projects within specified timeframes and funding parameters to ensure goals and objectives of projects and deliverables satisfy agreed standards of quality from customers and company.
- Monitor audit findings and has audit corrections made within the customer’s timeline.
- Review Closeout documentation prior to submission to the Project Manager.
- Capture change orders on all projects and submit to Project Manager.
- Must track and coordinate material delivery, schedule construction, and drive completion to meet schedule and budget expectations set by Project Manager.
- Must enter, update, and maintain project’s financial progress in our financial software platform.
- Perform site walks for bid opportunities and design to industry standards.
- Conduct weekly quality audits of crews.
- Conduct weekly Job Safety Analysis of crews.
- Hold daily tailgate meetings before beginning work.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand customer-provided prints and determine required tasks.
- Must be able to manage and maintain subcontractor relationships.
- Knowledge of municipality’s standard within the designated region(s).
- Experience in project construction management and development of telecommunication infrastructure projects or consolidations.
- Knowledge of building permit process and material ordering and tracking.
- Comprehend construction documents and upload/download construction closeout documentation.
- Strong capabilities across all phases of construction management, leadership, and the ability to clarify and identify appropriate issues and risks to be mitigated to ensure project success.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.
- Candidate must have analytical skills, be detailed oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple complex tasks.
- Must have exceptional Microsoft Office skills, especially MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must be able to manage multiple crews, delegate construction responsibilities, and communicate all construction-related issues with their Project Manager & customer.
- Generally 80% of your time will be field/on site and 20% of your time will be in office
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to travel.
Education and Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in the telecommunications industry with related experience in Fiber installation.
