Task and Duties:
- Assemble and install fiber optic cables
- Test fiber optic cables for proper performance
- Splice fiber optic cables using fusion splicing and mechanical splicing techniques
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic cables
- Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine installation requirements
- Calibrate and adjust equipment as needed
- Maintain records of work performed
Skills:
- Experience in splicing and terminating single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables
- Knowledge of fusion splicing and OTDR testing
- Ability to interpret and analyze test results
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
Requirements:
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Understanding of fiber optic systems and components
- Proficiency in splicing and related operations
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures
Personal Traits:
- Detail-oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Travel and Production splicing Required.
