Job Summary:
The TSQ Specialist will provide technical expertise and support for the Safety Management System at NTI National Technologies, in addition to coordinating training and developmental aspects of the assigned territory. This position will include regular field observations for ISP/OSP projects to assess safety, skills training, and quality needs. The TSQ Specialist will play an integral role in the facilitation of continuous improvement in safety, training, compliance, and culture.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help maintain and continuously improve all elements within the NTI Safety Management System, technical training programs, e-Learning platforms, on-boarding bootcamps, and skills acquisitions
- Support new hire on-boarding training programs and work with leaders to support development of training matrices and departmental on-boarding plans.
- Conduct documented job site observations to evaluate areas of improvement in safety, technical training and quality
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations
- Conduct thorough risk assessments or JHA’s for high-risk activities and other scopes of work as needed while identifying safety and training gaps
- Assist with design and delivery of training content for in-person, virtual and digital formats
- Assist in ensuring new employees are acclimating to the company culture and achieving key milestones in their skill development
- Facilitate the incident analysis and lessons learned process for injuries, near hits, and quality performance concerns
- Perform hands-on skills assessments to evaluate technical proficiency in the field and support NTI’s career development program
- Assist with review / development of Site-Specific Safety Plans
- Work closely with project managers and subject matter experts to integrate training, safety and quality into project planning and execution
- Provide coaching and mentoring for field leaders to encourage a behavior-based safety approach
- Implement and track corrective actions for safety and quality as identified through site audits and lessons learned
- Plan, organize, and facilitate training sessions for employees across various departments
- Assist the TSQ team with additional responsibilities as needed
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees and outside professionals.
- Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks and determine priorities.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a construction environment with basic knowledge of fiber optics and communication technologies.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee will be working in a construction environment thus exposing him/her to production operations.
- The employee may be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, chemicals and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and metallic particles.
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, sitting, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, talking, seeing, and hearing.
