As our Payroll Specialist, you’ll oversee the seamless and timely processing of payroll for our growing workforce. Your role is essential—not just in ensuring compliance with payroll regulations but also in contributing to our organization’s financial health and employee satisfaction. You’ll serve as a trusted resource for payroll-related inquiries, collaborate with HR on employee transitions, and play a critical role in optimizing payroll procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Process payroll for a diverse workforce on a weekly and bi-weekly schedule.
- Maintain precise payroll records, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
- Handle payroll adjustments, including bonuses, overtime, and retroactive pay.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Respond to employee questions about payroll, deductions, taxes, and benefits with clarity and care.
- Collaborate with HR to keep payroll data accurate and up to date.
- Create and submit payroll reports for management and external agencies.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role in payroll processing and administration.
- Experience handling certified payroll and union benefits reporting
- Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Foundations or similar systems is a plus. Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to address employee inquiries.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
