Physical Requirements

  • Strength and Endurance:
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy parts and equipment, often in the range of 50–75 pounds or more.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and work in awkward or tight spaces for extended periods.
  • Climbing ladders and working at heights may also be required for accessing machinery.
  • Manual Dexterity:
  • Skilled hand-eye coordination to use various hand tools (wrenches, drills, screwdrivers, etc.), power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Ability to handle small parts or components with care and accuracy.
  • Mobility and Agility:
  • Ability to move quickly between different areas of the facility, often in response to breakdowns or emergencies.
  • Work in varied environments, such as confined spaces, elevated platforms, or areas with limited lighting or space.
  • Vision and Color Recognition:
  • Good vision, including the ability to distinguish colors, particularly when dealing with electrical wiring or machinery indicators.
  • Visual acuity to inspect machinery, tools, and equipment for wear or damage.
  • Manual and Physical Coordination:
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble machinery, aligning parts, fixing bolts, or troubleshooting parts under pressure.
  • Frequent use of both hands and sometimes specialized tools to perform tasks.
  • Environmental Tolerance:
  • Tolerance to various work environments (dusty, hot, cold, noisy) often found in manufacturing settings.
  • Ability to wear appropriate safety gear such as gloves, ear protection, goggles, and other protective equipment.

  • Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems on machines and systems.
  • Analyze equipment failures, determine root causes, and devise effective solutions quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Attention to Detail:
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure proper operation of machinery and prevent further damage or breakdowns.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical manuals, diagrams, or schematics when repairing or maintaining equipment.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking repairs, scheduling maintenance, and inventory management.
  • Time Management and Multi-tasking:
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure situations and manage time effectively, especially during emergency repairs or system failures.
  • Manage multiple repairs or preventive maintenance tasks simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without sacrificing quality.
  • Analytical Thinking:
  • Use logical and analytical thinking to assess situations, interpret data (such as machine performance reports), and determine necessary maintenance actions.
  • Ability to predict potential equipment failures before they occur based on analysis of wear patterns and performance data.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting issues, updating maintenance logs, and collaborating with other team members, supervisors, or engineers.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staff or supervisors.
  • Adaptability and Learning:
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to new technologies, systems, and techniques in the rapidly evolving manufacturing industry.
  • Continuous learning to stay up-to-date with new equipment, tools, and maintenance procedures.
  • Safety Awareness and Risk Management:
  • Mental focus on safety procedures to avoid accidents and injuries, both for oneself and others.
  • Ability to assess risks and take appropriate precautions to handle hazardous materials, machinery, or environments.

Job Description

Performs routine repairs and maintenance on induction coils along with related components of Induction Heat Treat machines to also include set up and testing of coils.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coil Building, Repair, and Modification
  • Coil Detail Manufacturing Including CNC programming and operation, bench milling and lathe operation.
  • Machining and fabricating repair fixtures
  • Able to respond to calls for Coil and/or Quality Issues on weekend or after hours
  • MP2 Database: creating, updating, closing coil shop work orders, and other clerical tasks as required
  • Coil Inventory control (Maintain and Track)
  • Assist Engineers with New Program and Line Developments if needed
  • Improvement team meetings and projects as required
  • Support Production- Heat pattern problems, Coil issues and Setup issues
  • Coil life and Heat pattern improvements
  • Maintain shop equipment
  • 5S of shop

Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, And Abilities

  • Able to sit, kneel, squat or bend, for lengths of times.
  • Able to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly if necessary.
  • Able to use common hand tools, and or power tools.
  • Able to operate man lifts
  • Setup and climb ladders.
  • Able to grasp and manipulate small objects such as screws, rivets, wire terminals, etc.
  • High School Diploma
  • Six months minimum experience in manufacturing
