Physical Requirements

  • Stamina and Endurance:
  • Supervisors may spend long hours on their feet, walking through the production floor, and overseeing operations, requiring a good level of physical stamina.
  • The ability to endure long shifts, especially in environments that operate 24/7, like factories with rotating shifts.
  • Physical Mobility:
  • The ability to move quickly around the production floor to address issues, supervise workers, inspect machinery, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, or working in confined spaces might sometimes be necessary, depending on the facility.
  • Manual Dexterity and Hand-Eye Coordination:
  • Supervisors should be able to operate certain machinery or equipment in emergencies, and be able to handle tools or assist in minor repairs when necessary.
  • They must also demonstrate good hand-eye coordination when inspecting parts or performing quality control checks.
  • Visual Acuity:
  • Close attention to detail is critical, especially when performing quality control checks or inspecting machinery for defects.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assembly Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who work on assembly lines. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Being an Assembly Supervisor ensures operations and employees follow proper policies and procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for training, coaching and leading of assembly workers.
  • Manage a group of 25-80 employees in a production area.
  • Assistant in creation and managing manufacturing processes, managing inventory, ensuring machines are operating properly
  • Hire, Train, Observe, and develop skills of assigned employees
  • Responsible for product/process quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting to a Production Manager, create, improve and manage production within the facility.
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Implement lean manufacturing concepts as applicable to include Kaizan, KanBan, PokeYoke, 5S, etc.
  • Maintain the highest level of safety and work with employees to identify potential hazards
  • Ensure production plans are met and improve on time delivery performance.
  • Implement production strategies to increase operational accuracy, efficiency and quality
  • Responsible for developing and implementing production plant policies, procedures, operations and standardization
  • Drives production strategies to reduce product waste
  • Communicate with team and enforces company policies and procedures
  • Must be flexible to change (for all areas)
  • Should have good time management and planning skills.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, And Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree and / or equivalent work experience of 3-5 years in the field or in a related area.
  • History of progressive leadership skills through a cooperative and participatory approach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (ie Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficient in J.D. Edwards and / or comparable ERP software
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Will recognize and comply with all safety rules
  • Will work overtime as requested by Manager or scheduled
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
