Job Description
NTN USA's corporate legal team has an opportunity for an attorney to join our organization. NTN is a leader in the precision automotive and industrial components industry. Our parent organization in Japan has been in existence for over one hundred years and our Americas Region has been operating for over 50 years. The Americas Region has revenue of $1.6B with 5,000 employees across 18 facilities.
In this role you will report to the General Counsel and be responsible for a broad range of primarily commercial as well as corporate-related legal duties. The position is based in Mount Prospect, Illinois and includes a hybrid work schedule after initial orientation. Responsibilities will be largely dedicated to supporting our Sales and Customer Support Division regarding commercial legal contracts with B2B customers as well as supporting our manufacturing divisions with key supplier contracts. There is also the usual array of corporate organization legal duties regarding facilities and service contracts.
Specific Responsibilities :
- Draft, review, and finalize various legal / commercial contracts and licenses (primarily for business-to-business customers). Provide analysis and assistance in resolving customer issues.
- Resolve disputes with vendors, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, and other business partners. Experience with USMCA, U.S. Customs, FTZ and supply chain partners from U.S., Japan, and S.E. Asia is a definite plus.
- Provide legal support and contract review and preparation for suppliers to our manufacturing divisions
- Provide legal support for organization stakeholders regarding facility and service contracts
- Advise stakeholders on appropriate courses of action regarding contracts, regulatory requirements, and other superseding conditions
- Assist with management of our internal customs / paralegal team
- Support Corporate Human Resources and Finance regarding code of conduct policy, corporate governance, internal controls, and cyber security issues
- Participate in surveys and audits with customers, suppliers and our external auditors
- Add and maintain content within contract lifecycle management systems
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders and clients on legal matters and corporate governance issues
- Research regulatory issues as needs arise
- Model behaviors that support the NTN Code of Conduct, Vision and Principles
