JOB DESCRIPTION : The Forge Material Handler will handle, move load and unload materials manually or using a variety of material handling systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Load, unload, and move products and materials, manually or using material handling equipment.
Perform other related duties such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking various products and material.
Using winches and other loading devices load and unload materials onto and off trucks and trailers at warehouse loading bays and in industrial establishments, to ensure that items are moved to and from transportation vehicles and loading bays, and that materials are stored in and retrieved from warehouses.
May be required for perform other duties such as opening containers and crates, filling orders in a warehouse, assisting in taking inventory, and weighing and checking various items
Maintain time and production records
Assigned work area will be cleaned, and kept neat and orderly during every workday
Will recognize and comply with all safety rules
Will work overtime as requested by supervisor or scheduled
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES :
High School Diploma
3 years Forklift prior experience
Must have 6 months experience in manufacturing.
Physical strength is required for Material Handlers who work with heavy materials.
Requires ability to lift 50 lbs and ability to drive various types of forklifts and the ability to Push / Pull up to 250 lbs with a force of 15-25 lbs. Distance – approx. 100ft Trucks are used to maneuver heavier baskets and extended distances.
PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS :
Lift and Carry : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
Standing Walking : Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances, often on concrete or uneven surfaces and up and down steps.
Repetitive Motion : Capable of performing repetitive tasks, including grasping, lifting, twisting and bending.
Hand-eye coordination : Ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls and make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
Fine Motor Skills : Ability to use manual dexterity to operate levers, buttons, and controls
Vision Attention to Detail : good close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus and ensure safe operations, including reading gauges and safety indicators.
Physical Stamina : Ability to maintain focus and physical energy throughout the workday, which may include handling loads, stacking, and organizing materials in a fast-paced environment.
Balance Mobility : Must have good balance and be able to move freely in tight spaces.
Environmental Conditions : Ability to work in various conditions including varying temperatures, exposure to manufacturing oils and fluids and moderate noise levels.
