What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler - Receiving - 2nd shift - East position at NTN Driveshaft, Inc?
Repack of materials/product ensuring no damage. If damaged, fill out a QA HOLD tag correctly and the Team Leader or Supervisor is to be notified. All tags and labeling is transferred to new containers. Perform inventory transactions using RF scanners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for 5S
- Responsible to pull loads in staging lanes
- Transfer product when moved outside shipping area
- Order parts from the Diafuku racking system
- Unload dunnage from trucks
- Load trucks per customer requirements
- Verify bar codes, labels and quantity
- Cover dock areas during their breaks/lunch if needed
- Be versatile to be trained in our other job assignments to cover during vacation/OA days
- Communication during shift change about pertinent information
- Any other duties assigned by team leader or supervisor
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:
- 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous sit down fork lift experience preferred
- Self-starter
- Ability to multitask
- Organizational skills
- Excellent verbal & written communications skills
- Good problem solving skills
- High School Diploma
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift and Carry: Ability to lift up to 70 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally, including lifting materials onto or off of the forklift.
- Standing & Walking: Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances, often on concrete or uneven surfaces and up and down steps.
- Repetitive Motion: Capable of performing repetitive tasks, including grasping, lifting, twisting, bending, and operating controls of the forklift.
- Hand-eye coordination: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls and make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
- Fine Motor Skills: Ability to use manual dexterity to operate levers, buttons, and controls
- Vision & Attention to Detail: good close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus and ensure safe operations, including reading gauges and safety indicators.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to maintain focus and physical energy throughout the workday, which may include handling loads, stacking, and organizing materials in a fast-paced environment.
- Balance & Mobility: Must have good balance and be able to move freely in tight spaces while operating the forklift
- Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in various conditions including outdoor settings and in warehouse environments with varying temperatures.
