What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Household Cook / Chef position at NTR Investments LLC?
We are looking for an experienced and innovative Household Private Chef to join our active healthy household staff! We are a very active, athletic, professional family with 2 small children. You must have a passion for creating delicious meals and be comfortable cooking in private kitchens. Our ideal candidate knows how to develop healthy menu items to meet the meal preferences of our family. Experience in preparing gluten and dairy free meals is a must. You will be expected to order food and supplies, check ingredients for freshness, and prepare meals within the proper timeframe. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the cooking areas, storage areas, and all kitchen equipment, utensils, and linens. This position will be between 20-40 hours per week, depending on the candidate's experience and efficiency. Minimum of 2 days per week, preferably 3-5 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Discuss meal preferences, weekly menu’s, schedules, and expectations with the lady of the house.
- Be responsible for menu planning, grocery shopping, budgeting, sourcing local ingredients - including those from the family’s garden, and preparing meals for the principals, their children, larger family gatherings and social events at the house.
- Preparing and packing the families lunches and snacks for their days at school and work.
- Maintaining the appliances in the kitchens and pantries. Keeping them clean and in maintained regularly. Replacing filters, etc.
- Prioritize using fresh, organic ingredients from the family's garden and local suppliers.
- Have the ability to make delicious, nutritionally balanced dishes for every meal that the whole family will enjoy. Healthy “desert” alternatives for the family members that prefer a desert after their meals.
- Collaborate with the family to adjust meal plans according to the children's evolving needs.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization and ensure stock replenishment of dishes, cookware, and refrigerators and freezers.
- Occasional travel required with family. This will of course be paid for by the family.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food safety training or certification
- 5 years of Culinary Experience
- English Speaking
- Experience as a personal or restaurant chef.
- Knowledge of a variety of dietary lifestyles and restrictions. Expertise in nutritious meal preparation. Healthy alternatives for delicious foods that are gluten and dairy free. Uses whole foods and prepares balanced plates.
- Knowledge of fresh, local, and organic ingredients, with the ability to source ingredients from farmers markets, Whole Foods, and other resources.
- The perfect candidate is someone who can adapt to the family's dietary preferences and meal schedules.
- Previous experience working in a private home environment, demonstrating adaptability and a service-oriented mindset.
- Positive attitude, calm demeanor, and willingness to contribute positively to the home's energy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with household staff and family members.
- Must be comfortable with pets. We have 2 small dogs, both friendly. We have 4 large cats, 3 outdoor and one indoor.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Salary : $30 - $40
