NTT Data seeks high-achieving team players who quickly adapt to new challenges and entrepreneurial ventures. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist – System Dynamics & Insurance Strategy to work with our global client in Boston, MA (Preferred hybrid – may have some remote flexibility).
Job Summary:
NTT DATA is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in System Dynamics modeling and hands-on experience in the US Insurance industry to join our growing Advanced Analytics team. You will be instrumental in designing and deploying business simulators that help top-tier insurance carriers navigate complex strategic and operational decisions across U.S. states.
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of data science, systems thinking, and business strategy, working within one of the world’s leading consulting and technology firms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of System Dynamics models to simulate market behaviors, operational performance, and policy impacts for insurance carriers.
- Build and deploy business simulators using tools like Vensim, Stella, or Python-based environments.
- Collaborate with senior consultants and client stakeholders to frame business challenges and translate them into dynamic modeling frameworks.
- Guide strategic planning efforts at a state-level (U.S.) by simulating market entry, pricing, growth, and risk scenarios.
- Contribute to broader data science and analytics initiatives, including model integration with data platforms, visualization tools, and scenario engines.
- Support knowledge sharing and mentoring within the analytics team.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data science or analytics, with at least 3 years applying System Dynamics modeling.
- Deep familiarity with the U.S. Insurance industry, particularly within carriers (P&C, Health, or Life).
- Proficiency in Vensim, Stella, and/or Python-based modeling environments (e.g., PySD).
- Demonstrated experience building and deploying simulation models for strategic or operational decision-making.
- Strong understanding of system thinking, and system modeling feedback loops, and dynamic complexity.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Systems Engineering).
- Experience working in a consulting environment or with cross-functional teams.
- Located in or willing to relocate to Boston, MA.
- Experience integrating System Dynamics models with dashboards, decision-support tools, or enterprise platforms.
