What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cash Posting Representative - Hybrid, Monroeville PA position at NTT DATA?
Type: Temporary to Hire position
Location: Onsite required, 2 days a week every other week, remaining would be work from home.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8 hr shift between hours of 7am - 430pm (i.e 8-430 or 730-4pm)
First week for training hours will be 8-430pm
Pay: 18.00 hour W2
Summary:
A Cash Applications Representative is responsible for posting payments and adjustments for insurances and patients, analyzing insurance explanation of benefits and patient checks, processing credit card and electronic check transactions, obtaining the necessary documentation required for posting, and researching and resolving unapplied cash.
- Post payment exceptions from a worklist for payments that are not able to be matched through automation in the accounts receivable system to the appropriate charges to resolve debit and credit balances.
- Track and resolve forward balance transactions based on payer specific processes.
- Post payments to patient and insurance balances based on PDF remittance advices and check details received through the third-party banking system.
- Review cash inquiries submitted by collections teams, update cash posting when necessary, and provide detailed written responses regarding the inquiry resolution.
- Submit refund requests when needed.
- Research and respond to unapplied cash by telephone, via the internet and in writing to insurance companies and governmental payers.
Qualified Job Requirements
- 1 year Medical office, Health Insurance, or banking related experience
- 1 year of Account receivable or cash posting experience in a healthcare environment.
- 1 year of advanced experience using Microsoft Office products’ specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Must be able to commute to the Monroeville, PA office, 2 days every other week.

- Customer service in a healthcare environment.
- Experience working in a healthcare reimbursement system.
- Effective customer service skills and experience that shows ability to work in a team environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to utilize analytical skills.
- Ability to navigate through multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize based on importance while displaying strong attention to detail.
