Job Title: Home Care Aide (In-Home Caregiver)
Reports To: Supervisor/Administrator
Location: Client’s Home or other location as requested
Job Summary:
The Home Care Aide provides non-medical in-home support and assistance to elderly and disabled clients, promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life. This role includes assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), light housekeeping, companionship, and other supportive tasks as outlined in the client's care plan.
Responsibilities:
Personal Care Assistance:
- Assist clients with ADLs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Provide medication reminders (no medication administration).
- Support clients with safe transfers and ambulation.
Companionship & Emotional Support:
- Engage clients in meaningful conversation and activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Provide companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Housekeeping & Meal Preparation:
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dusting, and tidying up.
- Plan, prepare, and serve meals based on dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Assist with grocery shopping and errands as needed.
Safety & Supervision:
- Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition to the supervisor.
- Ensure a safe home environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Follow emergency procedures when necessary.
Transportation & Errands (if applicable):
- Provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, and social activities.
- Assist with running errands, such as picking up prescriptions or shopping.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in home care, caregiving, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to follow a care plan and communicate effectively with supervisors and family members.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
- Ability to lift or assist clients as needed.
- Must pass a background check and any required state certifications.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
-MUST HAVE HCA ( Home Care Aide-State of California)
Schedule & Work Environment:
- We have 2 positions 7:00-3:00 pm and 3:00 pm- 11:00 pm
-Weekends are a MUST
- Work is performed in the client’s home or location, requiring travel to assigned location.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
