Description
Our company is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor to oversee the workers, processes, equipment, safety, and housekeeping of all night shift departments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing any special night shift department work instructions and ensuring compliance to promote continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:

- Establish any special night shift department work instructions and ensure compliance to promote continuous improvement
- Ensure safety is implemented into daily work activities
- Aid workers in the interpretation of specifications and assign their duties
- Periodically inspect and verify parts to ensure conformance to customer specifications
- Validate raw material sheets requisitions and inspect delivered material, as needed
- Establish and adjust work activities to meet production schedules, using knowledge of department capacities
- Ensure workers maintain accurate counts of parts; attach labels or tags to parts as necessary
-Oversee the utilization of the data collection system regarding accurate recording of production activities including time spent, quantity produced and any rejected parts as well as basic attend-in and attend-out transactions.
- Review and approve all daily Time and Attendance (T&E) data for direct reports and review for efficiencies and accuracy of job activities per work instructions and training.
- Ensures vacation policy including time-off requests are communicated to Human Resources.
- Review worker’s performance by completing performance appraisals and recommend personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures.
- Identify training needs for workers and recommend training programs.
- Train new workers on job responsibilities, procedures/shop rules and work Instructions.
- Resolve or facilitates problems or concerns with workers, may direct to HR for assistance.
- Perform all job functions to meet acceptable quality and performance standards.
- Communicate with co-workers and/or manager to receive instructions and coordinate job activities.
- Follow all safety procedures and wears safety equipment or apparel as required.
- Ensure on a daily basis the night shift departments are clean and orderly including machines, tooling, workstations and parts.
May be required to follow other job-related instructions and duties, as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing related education or work experience in metal fabrication environment
· Minimum of 5 years of previous supervisory experience.
· Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
· Good mathematical aptitude.
· Basic computer literacy with the ability to perform tasks within company’s ERP system (Epicor preferred).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bilingual (English/Spanish)
· Working experience with programming and operating automated turret punch, fiber lasers and material retrieval systems (Prima and Trumpf )
· Robotic or manual welding experience
· Experience using CAD software - SolidWorks and NC Express.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Exert 50 pounds of force occasionally and 25 pounds of force frequently.
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to communicate with others and accommodation as required to listen to equipment and monitor paging system.
· Accommodation as required for reading documents, prints, computer screens, and quality instruments.
