Job Title: Floating Pharmacist (Retail, Compounding)

Job Summary:
NuCara is currently seeking a full-time Floating Pharmacist (32 to 40 hours per week) to support our retail and compounding pharmacies. This role is primarily based at our Greenfield, IA location, with additional coverage in the Polk and Story County areas. The pharmacist will rotate between the following locations based on operational needs: Ames, Pleasant Hill, and Nevada.
This role provides comprehensive coverage in retail pharmacy, including compounding services that emphasize patient-centered clinical care. Responsibilities include administering vaccinations, overseeing retail and telepharmacy operations, and ensuring safe and effective medication therapy. Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff.
- Leverage available technologies, including computer systems, databases, and compounding equipment, to enhance pharmaceutical care.
- Review and interpret physician orders to accurately prepare, calculate, and dispense medications for both compounding and retail pharmacy, ensuring compliance with the Practicing State's Pharmacy Practice Act, Federal Drug Laws, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain adherence to all regulatory standards, professional guidelines, and company policies while delivering pharmaceutical care.
- Training specifically pertaining to compounding will be offered.
Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, a high level of motivation, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. They must also be able to efficiently utilize available resources to provide optimal patient care.
Position Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy required.
- Current Iowa Pharmacy license by starting date.
- 2 years of experience managing/working with technicians preferred.
Full-time positions offer competitive wages and a benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, short-term disability, 401(k) match, holiday pay, and PTO. Our pharmacies observe closure on Sundays and all major holidays. Staffing follows regular business hours, Monday through Friday, with the addition of a bi-weekly half-day Saturday shift. The anticipated schedule includes two days per week at the Greenfield location and two additional days at the designated NuCara locations.
As part of your role, you will be provided with a company vehicle for business use, subject to company policies regarding maintenance, insurance, and appropriate usage.
