What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at NuCara Pharmacy?
NuCara Pharmacy is a dynamic community pharmacy serving patients in Iowa, Texas, North Dakota, and Minnesota. At NuCara, we prioritize one-on-one patient counseling and medication management with the goal of delivering the best pharmacy value without sacrificing the quality of care prized by our patients. We are seeking a full-time pharmacy technician to join our team in Ames, IA. Duties will primarily be in our retail pharmacy, but we also specialize in non-sterile compounding which is ideal for pharmacy technicians looking to diversify their skills. National Pharmacy Technician certification is preferred but not required upon hire but is required within one year of employment (as required by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy).
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Data entry
- Filling prescriptions
- Customer interaction
- Inventory management
- Assist in directing daily workflow
- Resolving rejected insurance claims
Store hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday - Friday and 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays. However, this position does not regularly include Saturday hours. The pharmacy is closed on Sundays and all major holidays. Saturday hours for technicians are infrequent on an as needed basis.
