Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Transportation and Maintenance Coordinator to join our team at Lakeshore assisted living community. This dual-role position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our facility and the well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of skills in transportation logistics and facility maintenance, demonstrating a commitment to high standards of service and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Duties:
- Safely transport residents to medical appointments, social activities, and other scheduled outings.
- Ensure all transportation vehicles are well-maintained, clean, and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating transportation needs for residents.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including courteous and empathetic interaction with residents.
Maintenance Duties:
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs, including repairs and preventative upkeep.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as fixing leaky faucets, changing light bulbs, and addressing HVAC issues.
- Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs and renovations, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to standard.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an assisted living or healthcare setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate in English
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to working with seniors.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- Comfort with performing physical tasks and operating tools and equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
