A part-time FOH Manager is needed for an elegant supper club to guide staff, create schedules, greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, and more.
Staff Management:
- Train, and supervise FOH staff (servers, hosts, etc.)
- Create staff schedules and manage labor costs
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback
- Ensure high levels of employee engagement and morale
Customer Service:
- Oversee guest interactions to ensure satisfaction and resolve complaints
- Ensure smooth and efficient table turnover while maintaining a high level of service
- Ensure that guest expectations are consistently exceeded
- Develop relationships with regular guests and VIPs, offering personalized service
- Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and large parties
- Engage with customers by Handling phone calls, and make reservations;
- Provide information about the restaurant.
Operations and Service Flow:
- Manage the guest seating process, optimizing table assignments for flow and efficiency
- Oversee the coordination between kitchen and service staff to ensure timely food delivery
- Monitor service standards, ensuring food and beverage quality and presentation meet expectations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including cleanliness and food safety standards
- Train staff on emergency procedures and protocols (fire, first aid, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and responsible alcohol consumption policies
Communication and Coordination:
- Facilitate communication between the front and back of house
- Attend management meetings to discuss operational strategies and updates
Quality Control and Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly to minimize disruptions
- Perform regular inspections of the dining area and staff performance
- Ensure high standards for food quality, ambiance, and service are consistently maintained
Ambiance and Guest Experience:
- Oversee the creation of a welcoming atmosphere through music, lighting, and decor
- Ensure the proper ambiance and attention to detail for special occasions (e.g., holidays, celebrations)
- Monitor guest feedback through surveys, reviews, or direct interaction to improve service quality
Administrative Tasks:
- Handle reservations, guest inquiries, and booking systems
- Prepare reports on performance metrics such as sales, guest feedback, and staff performance
- Ensure that all legal and operational documentation is up to date (licenses, insurance, etc.)
Operations:
- Be an extra hand when needed, jumping in to assist with various tasks.
- Run food and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to facilitate smooth operations.
- Address and resolve table conflicts or customer complaints promptly.
Other tasks include:
- Answer phone, listen to voicemails, make reservations, keep bathrooms clean and stocked, organize.
- Manage seating chart and ensure tables are allocated efficiently;
- Maintain a rotation system for seating.
Requirements:
- Serving experience preferred but not required, excellent communication and personal skills;
- Ability to handle high-volume situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, Wednesday-Saturday.
