SUMMARY
The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing and streamlining the billing process,
generating patient bills, verifying billing data, maintaining accurate records, and
resolving billing issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES include the following. Employee must
have regular attendance/punctuality, be able to cooperate with others, and be
completely honest. Other assigned duties include:
not limited to auditing bill readiness of patient accounts and ensuring
compliance of the related documentation, reviewing approved services for
exceptions, and proactively identifying qualifiers for split billing
o Audit and release bills on hold on a weekly basis
o Bill denial research and resolution
o Maintain accurate records of receivable balances
o Assist with monthly reporting
o Tracking outstanding balances and resolution of overdue payments
o Assist with internal and external audit requests
o Coordinate with other departments as necessary for job functions
o Performs other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND SKILL RECOMMENDATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Compensation: $22-$26/hour

o Bill denial research and resolution
- Recordkeeping and reporting
o Maintain accurate records of receivable balances
o Assist with monthly reporting

o Coordinate with other departments as necessary for job functions

- In-depth knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle including but not limited
- Basic Excel experience including but not limited to formatting, sorting,

- Perform basic writing, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize and function in a team
