Position Details: Monday- Friday 23:00 – 07:30 Shift Differential: $3.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Place IVs and oversee patient care with a supportive team
- Perform medication administration when required on our renal, diabetic, and ESRD volunteers during their clinical trials
- Conducting procedures including vital signs, ECGs, blood collection, blood processing, adverse events, data collection, and administrative tasks.
- Oversee volunteer safety with investigational drug dosing in concert with medical staff.
- Perform clinical procedures/assessments according to the approved protocol requirements, NN standard operating procedures, and ICH GCP.
- Assist in the coordination/supervision of staff and participants within the Clinical Unit, troubleshooting any study issues that arise on a day-to-day basis in consultation with Clinical Operations Management, Medical Operations, and/or Project Team
- Monitor and accurately document adverse event initial assessment / concomitant medications according to NN SOPs or the protocol requirements.
- Manage and lead clinical care in any emergency under the direction of Medical Operations as per NN SOPs and contact on-call medical officers when required.
- Provide quality medical care and monitor the wellbeing of patients / healthy volunteers when on study, taking appropriate actions when necessary.
- Participate in collecting, processing, storing, and tracking biological samples.
- Assist the Screening Department with appointments in the event of absence or when delegated by management to do so.
- Assist in preparing the clinical unit for check-in and next day on study procedure set-up.
- Enforce NN Clinical Unit House Rules with all study participants and visitors.
- Review and restock clinical unit consumables and advise Clinical Operations Management when stock needs ordering.
- Lead and coordinate mock code drills, emergency skills teaching, and oversight.
- Ensure own Learning and Development Key Performance Indicators are met and upheld.
- Take on leadership responsibilities when designated in charge.
- Other duties as delegated by NN management.

- Must be proficient in IV placement.
- Team player with excellent time management.
- Ability to adhere to relevant document standards.
- Excellent communication skills with high attention to detail.
