Basic Job Functions:
- Detailing / drafting of parts for fabrication using Autocad® and/or Tekla® (3-D BIM) software
- Creating steel erection drawings
- Detailing of primary structural framing, secondary framing parts, large assemblies and fabrication reports
- Entering and editing items in Bill of Materials program
- Preparing erection drawings using Autocad® and/or Tekla®
- Checking work of other detailers for projects of any complexity shortly after completion of initial training
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of direct metal building detailing experience or structural detailing experience.
- Experience with 3-D BIM software or Autocad® and Microsoft Excel®
- High School or General Equivalency Diploma.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in either Architecture or Construction Technology
- Sound knowledge of metal building construction practices
- Strong aptitude for maintaining multiple tasks and assignments
- Strong written, verbal and graphical communication skills
- Practical application of BIM technology
