Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities for a plasma operator include but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain the two plasma cutting beds as a part of the built-up structural process
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as needed.
- Read and interpret shop drawings.
- Perform tasks as directed by the Line Supervisor and/or the Line Group Leader.
- Understand order processing (shop releases and run orders).
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Technical Sales, or Construction desired
- 3 years Sales or Sales Service experience working directly with Builders
Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
