Basic Job Functions :
Responsibilities for the fitter include but are not limited to :
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Layout, tack, and prepare materials for finish welding as specified per drawing or print.
- Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print.
- Operating powered tools, industrial powered equipment and overhead cranes.
- Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream to address safety, quality and efficiency issues / concerns.
