Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Connecticut is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accounting Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the coordination, oversight and execution of Nucor’s general accounting, financial reporting, inventory reporting, accounts payable, cash management and internal control-related activities. This role is responsible for the supervision and growth and development opportunities for the Accounting Department teammates. Candidates must possess the ability to develop an in- depth understanding of the production environment and provide various financial and cost analyses for driving continual improvement across all aspects and departments in the division. Candidates must have a commitment to safety, quality, profitability (including analysis), and continuous improvement, and be able to provide technical GAAP guidance and maintain and continuously improve the internal control structure. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future). Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Rate is dependent on experience - Starting base salary of $115,377.60
Position is eligible for ROA & Profit Share Bonus, if applicable

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business (Accounting emphasis) or related field
- 5 years’ experience in Accounting or related field with supervisory experience
- Business Acumen – General business knowledge and an understanding of how Nucor makes money.
- Developing and Building Teams – Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members as well as effectively managing and resolving conflict as needed.
- Leadership Presence and Courage – Demonstrate a dynamic leadership presence and able to inspire team to drive change and respond effectively to any situation that may arise. Willingness and confidence to have immediate and direct conversations on critical alignment issues such as teamwork, building relationships, initiating, and supporting change. This includes the willingness to face adversity and conflict head on and get to a positive outcome. Comfortable making tough decisions.
- Communication Skills – The ability to communicate information effectively so that others will understand. Both Written and Verbal.
- Coaching and Developing Others – Demonstrated ability to be committed and effective at coaching teammates. Identifying the strengths and developmental needs of others to include coaching, mentoring, teaching, training, or otherwise helping others to improve their skills to work effectively.
- Problem Solving & Judgment/Decision Making - Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options in order to choose the most appropriate solution. Ability to think Strategically.
- MBA, CPA or CMA
- Manufacturing or Cost Accounting Experience
- ERP or Accounting System Experience
- PowerBI proficiency
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency
