Basic Job Functions:
The Maintenance Electrician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, safely maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading production equipment, process improvement, and operation support. This includes panel building, conduit installation, wire pulling and landing, PLC installation, programming, troubleshooting, motor control installation, troubleshooting and electrical schematic reading; The Maintenance team supports plant operations while working closely with all other departments in planning future needs and/or improvements. This position must help drive continuous improvements in safety, process efficiency and plant automation. This position requires working overtime with little or no notice as well as rotating shifts, weekends and holidays, as needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Compensation Data:
Starting compensation for this role ranges from $16.62 - $18.70 per hour and is eligible for a weekly Production Bonus and annual division earned Profit Sharing bonus. When factoring in the Production Bonus using a 4-year average, starting annual pay ranges between approximately $80,000 - $91,800 per year.
After training is completed, future compensation for this role ranges from $19.74 - $20.78 per hour plus the weekly Production Bonus. When factoring in the Production Bonus using a 4-year average, the future annual pay ranges from approximately $96,800-$102,000 per year.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two year degree in an electrical field or successful completion of trade school in the electrical field or at least 3 years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
