Are you an experienced Software Engineer with a passion for innovation and technology? Nucor Buildings Group is looking for a talented individual to help drive new technology and vision into our Design and Detailing applications. This full-time role is crucial for growing, maintaining and setting the standard within our software development teams.
Basic Job Functions:
- Software Development: The candidate would be proficient in one or more programming languages such as VB.Net, C#, Visual Basic, C , and/or any additional programming languages. They would understand software development processes, Agile Software Development, DevOps, continuous integration, version control, and test-driven development.
- Influencing Development: The candidate would follow development descriptions, meet work item acceptance criteria, and provide recommendations for software improvement. They would also be involved in defining development requirements, branching strategy, modifying build templates, and focusing on the long-term direction of tools their team is responsible for.
- Team Player: The candidate would work effectively in a team environment, participate in paired development or investigations, provide and be open to suggestions made by teammates, and actively participate in team discussions. They would also assist in mentoring new teammates and hold teammates accountable.
- Leading Initiatives: The candidate would be capable of leading investigations into improvements to software tools, drive development to completion, which includes leading a review, analysis, and documentation of program specifications. They would also be capable of collaborating in solutions across the enterprise and work with the Nucor Business Technology teams.
- Mentoring Teammates: The candidate would assist teammates in diagnosing and correcting errors in complex coding concepts, capable of providing technical leadership, and actively provide guidance to other teammates when needed. They would facilitate training opportunities for their team or department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related disciple. An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Complete a programmer skills assessment test.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
- Experience working with development teams in Azure DevOps
- Knowledgeable about building detailing, design, or manufacturing practices and processes
